He is portrayed by Raven-Symoné.

History[]

That's So Raven[]

Delroy was raised at the Baxter Family Farm, along with his cousin, Victor. Both boys adored their Grandmother Baxter and enjoyed watching her express her love for her family by cooking in her kitchen. As the son of the elder Baxter, Delroy knew the future running of the farm would fall to him, but Victor chose to attend culinary school in San Francisco and relocated there permanently. Both cousins would eventually marry and have their own families. Victor and his wife Tanya would frequently visit the farm to see Delroy and his wife, Vicky. By chance, both couples had a daughter around the same time. Little Betty Jane enjoyed showing her cousin Raven all around the homestead. A favorite game the two little girls liked to play was buried treasure, where they would bury anything they could find, only to dig it up afterwards. The last time the families were together, the cherished Baxter family gravy boat, an heirloom from the first Baxter to own the farm, vanished, and Delroy suspected his cousin Victor of stealing it, and then selling it, to buy his fancy house in the city. As a result, they broke off all communication with that side of the family and sent back any correspondence unopened, and unanswered. From that day, gravy was never served again in that household. About a dozen years later, a teenaged Raven sent a letter asking to visit, and although Delroy and his immediate kin objected, his mother, Faye gave permission for Raven to come. That initially proved to be a mistake, as that city girl's knowledge of country life was nonexistent, and Raven ended up hurting any family member that got close to her, with her clumsiness. The final indignity came when Raven actually asked for gravy at supper. This led to a conversation revealing the reason why the families had stopped talking. But, Raven claimed complete ignorance of the missing gravy boat and denied her father had taken it. Harsh words were exchanged, and Raven announced that she and her friend, Chelsea, would leave the next day. However, Raven changed her mind, and instead decided to investigate the mystery. After reviewing the events of the last day the gravy boat was seen, Raven produced a photo of her and Betty Jane as children, and the two ran outside. Eventually, Raven and Betty Jane returned with the missing gravy boat, confessing that they were the ones that really took it as part of the buried treasure game over a decade before. Thus, the feud between both families ended. A little later, Delroy and his entire family went up to San Francisco, and spent a few weeks with Victor and his family to make up for the lost time.
