Newt Slackley was a resident of San Francisco who worked as a TV news reporter for KBRP. He was first heard reporting on the Baxters' rescue from the tree line in Golden Gate Park. He later pressures an unwilling Raven to honor her mistake to make The Chill Grill the Grand Prize for Trivia Night.
He was played by Samm Levine.

Newt Slackley aired a news report on Victor and Raven's rescue from the park tree lines called "Golden Gate Goofballs" in 21 Lunch Street.
His Trivia Team is called the Eleven O'Clock Squad, likely meaning they all work together on the KBRP 11:00 p.m. newscast.
Newt states he is currently living out of his newsvan.
Raven mentions that he visits to The Chill Grill in The Grand Booker-Pest Hotel.
This is the second character named "Newt" to appear in the franchise, the previous one was "Newton 'Newt' Livingston III," Cory's best friend in Cory in the House, played by Jason Dolley.
As newscasters often use pseudonyms for their on-air personas, it is possible Newt Slackley is also "Marvin" from the Sleevemore Center, whom Raven met in the That's So Raven episode Saving Psychic Raven.
Samm Levine becomes the twelfth performer to appear in both That's So Raven and Raven's Home following Raven-Symoné, Anneliese van der Pol, Jonathan McDaniel, Brian George, Rondell Sheridan, Staci Lynn Fletcher, Mindy Sterling, Shania Accius, Christopher T. Wood, Peggy Blow and Adrienne Bailon Houghton.
- Additionally, Samm Levine has appeared as "Chambers" in the Liv and Maddie episode Steal-a-Rooney, "Zorro" in the Kirby Buckets episode All Hands on Dexter, and "Noah Stone" in the K.C. Undercover episode Catch Him If You Can, and has done voices for the Disney cartoon Fillmore!
  - Coincidently, in both his Liv and Maddie and K.C. Undercover appearances, Samm Levine's fellow guest star was Cozi Zuehlsdorff.
In real life, Levine is an acknowledged expert in film trivia, and at the time of filming this role, was recognized as the World Champion of Movie Trivia, as Samm "The Inglorious One" Levine, by the Movie Trivia Schmoedown.
In the original script:
- Newt stated that Trivia Night was a monthly Chill Grill event.
- Newt Slackley did not participate in The Chill Grill Trivia Night.
